Hi, I'm Shell!
Driven by Curiosity. Grounded in Design.
I’ve been working in graphic design since 2012, with experience spanning non-profits, healthcare, agencies, and even Fortune 500 companies. Over the years, I’ve realized something: design isn’t just what I do—it’s what I always come back to. No matter how many times I try to take a break, it reels me right back in.
To me, design is the ultimate form of creative problem-solving. It’s finding the most compelling way to communicate a message or evoke a feeling—without taking the obvious route. Great design is elevated, nuanced, deceptively simple (emphasis on deceptively), and endlessly complex. I live for that challenge. And while there are days I joke about switching careers to something like accounting, the truth is, nothing compares to the moment when a design clicks—and a client lights up.
When I'm not working I fill my time by taking on new weird hobbies (often design adjacent) that make people say, "Wait, you're doing what?".
Some of the skills I’ve picked up for fun:
-
Keelboat sailing (I learned under the Bay Bridge in San Francisco)
-
Welding (Oxy-acetylene, Stick, MIG & TIG—yes, really)
-
Certified yoga teacher (Two trainings in Bali)
-
Currently teaching myself screen printing—check out some of my prints below!
